A true art gallery
The first baptismal church in the area, invested with the role of Pieve already in the early Middle Ages. All that remains of the primitive church are the foundations under the pavement of the present one. Looking at the façade, we can see Romanesque elements dating back to the year and the various additions made first in the 1700s and then in the 1800s. Different styles blend harmoniously and reveal the most precious treasure inside: the Decollazione di San Giovanni Battista by Veronese; the Baptism of Jesus by Francesco Rizzo da Santacroce; the cycle of the Passion of Christ by Ridolfi and the various Saints painted by Carlo Ceresa; Sant’Orsola by Rubens; the Madonna de los Remedios from Seville, and many others!
